Tokyo shares open higher on weaker yen

Tokyo shares opened higher on Thursday on a weaker yen.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 166.95 points, or 0.81 percent, from Wednesday to 20,781.01.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 14.84 points, or 0.89 percent, to 1, 680.69. Endi
