French stock market index up 1.65 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.65 percent to close at 5,196.73 points on Wednesday, up 84.59 points.

Supported by the rebound of bank stocks and new stimulus measures announced by China, the CAC 40 of Paris closed higher on Wednesday with 34 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, while Safran stayed the same as previous trading day.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Societe Generale, up 7.90 percent, ArcelorMittal, up 4.80 percent, and Accor, up 4.49 percent.

The three companies whose stocks dropped on Wednesday were Legrand, down 0.58 percent, Technip, down 0.30 percent, and Unibail-Rodamco, down 0.28 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 experienced a slight decrease of 0.16 percent to close at 5,112.14 points, down 8.38 points. Endit
