Bulgarian Special Olympics athletes hailed for achievements

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev congratulated on Wednesday the Bulgarian athletes on their achievements at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games, the press centre of the President's Office said.

Plevneliev said the Special Olympics Games provide a chance to millions of people with intellectual disabilities worldwide to practice sports, be physically and socially active, and have the fulfilled life which everyone deserves.

The 23 Bulgarians with intellectual disabilities who participated in the sports event grabbed a total of 29 medals - 6 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze.

The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games began on July 25 in Los Angeles in the U. S.. The first one was held in 1968. Endit
