Chinese, Nepalese presidents exchange congratulations on anniversary of ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Nepalese counterpart Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday exchanged congratulatory messages on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their two countries.
In his message, Xi said that China and Nepal are good neighbors, good friends and good partners to each other, and that over the past 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have seen steady development of their ties and have forged a comprehensive cooperation partnership based on friendship between the two peoples for generations.
"I attach great importance to developing the China-Nepal relationship, and stand ready to make efforts with you to promote China-Nepal relations toward the achievement of more fruitful results in the interest of the two countries and two peoples," Xi said.
For his part, Yadav said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two nations' cooperation in various fields has kept deepening and the two peoples' friendship has kept strengthening.
When Nepal was hit by a powerful earthquake (in April), the Chinese government and people offered generous aid to Nepal, for which the Nepalese side expresses deep gratitude, Yadav said.
Nepal will firmly pursues the one-China policy, and sincerely wishes China continuous development and sustainable prosperity, he said. Endi
