Zimbabwe's recent export of 24 elephants to China was legal, a senior wildlife conversation official has said, rejecting allegations that the animals were "ill-treated."

"Everything was done above board. We have the number and all the management authorities in both countries were involved and it was a very successful operation," Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority Director General, Edson Chidziya, told a press conference on Friday. PARIS -- Works to identify whether the aircraft wreckage found on the eastern coast of France's overseas Island La Reunion was from the missing Boeing 777 or not, would start on Wednesday, a local media reported Friday.

LONDON -- A small plane with four people on board Friday crashed into a car auction site in Blackbushe Airport in south England's Hampshire, the airport confirmed.

"Blackbushe Airport confirm that a Phenom 300 Jet with four persons on board crashed near the end of the runway around 3.09 p.m. while attempting to make a landing," a spokesman for Blackbushe Airport said in a statement. (UK-Plane Crash)

KABUL -- The Afghan Taliban appointed Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor as the new leader to replace former Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar who passed away two years ago, the outfit said in a statement on Friday.

The statement came as Abdul Qayoum Zakir, Taliban's military head, Mullah Habibullah, a member of Taliban Quetta Shura or council, and Sayed Tayib Agha, head of Taliban's political office in Gulf state of Qatar, were among those Taliban members who strongly disagreed the appointment of Mansour as the new leader to replace Omar, according to local media reports. GAZA -- A 17-year-old Palestinian teenager was killed Friday and another one moderately injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire near the borders between northern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said.
