Xinhua, August 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Albanian Police found on Friday in Vlora, south of Albania 16 parcels with 2,152 cannabis plants, which police destroyed by burning.

Vlora local police announced that the narcotic plants, with a height up to 150 cm, were discovered during an anti-cannabis action in Dushkarak and Golimbas villages, respectively 55 and 40 km east of Vlora.

According to police, cannabis was planted in the lands without owner, making it difficult to identify and catch the perpetrators. This action follows that of two days ago, where 839 cannabis plants were discovered and destroyed in another village.

According to Albanian Daily News, for the past two months, Albanian police have discovered and destroyed in total more than 42,000 cannabis plants. They have arrested or declared in pursuit 17 persons suspected as perpetrators of cultivation of narcotic plants. Endit
