U.S. State Department congratulates Beijing on winning bid for Winter Olympics

The U.S. Department of State on Friday congratulated China's capital city Beijing on winning the bid for 2022 Winter Olympics.

"We obviously congratulate Beijing on winning the bid for the Winter Olympics," Mark Toner, U.S. State Department spokesman told reporters in a daily news conference, "You know, they've hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008 and did so successfully. We believe they're capable of doing so in the winter as well." Endit
