HKSAR gov't records 1.5 bln USD deficit in June

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government recorded an 11.3 billion HK dollars ( about 1.5 billion U.S. dollars) deficit in June, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau said here on Friday.

Government expenditure for June amounted to 34.0 billion HK dollars, with revenues of 22.7 billion HK dollars, according to the data.

The deficit was mainly because major types of revenue, including salaries and profits taxes, are mostly received towards the end of the financial year.
