Wolfsburg, Guadalajara qualify for Weifang Cup final

Wolfsburg beat ADO Den Haag 3-2 on Friday and will play against Guadalajara of Mexico to vie for the Weifang Cup crown here on Saturday.

The semifinals between ADO Den Haag and Wolfsburg, Guadalajara and Guimaraes were scheduled on Thursday, but were postponed to Friday due to heavy rain.

The first half was a pulsating affair with both sides looking to attack.Anton opened the scoring for Wolfsburg at the 18th minute.

The second half was a four-goal thriller. After Baggerman and Van der Heijden scored two goals at the 60th and 61st minutes to put ADO Den Haag 2-1 ahead, Wolfsburg's Conde scored a freekick in the 70th minute and Kara made it 3-2 in the 83rd minute.

In the other semifinal, Mexican Guadalajara defeated Portuguese Guimaraes 4-1 in a penalty shootout.

Seven youth teams from Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, China, the Netherlands, along with China's national youth team, are competing in the Luneng Weifang Cup International Football Tournament running from July 26 to August 1. Endi
