1st LD writethru: Blast kills 2, wounds 12 in E. Afghanistan

Two civilians were killed and 12 others injured in a blast that rocked Norgaram district in the eastern Nuristan province on Wednesday, provincial police chief Khalilullah Ziae said. "A mine planted by militants on a road in Norgaram district was obviously to target military vans but struck a civilian vehicle today morning, killing two civilians on the spot and injuring 12 others including women and children," Ziae told reporters here.

The official blamed Taliban insurgents for organizing the bloody blast. However, the armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility. Endi
