China's Henan Province sets up special team for Fox Hunt

Xinhua, July 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Police in central China's Henan Province have set up a six-member special team to nab wanted suspects as part of operation Fox Hunt, the country's campaign to catch economic fugitives who have fled overseas.

The team members speak foreign languages and may go abroad at any time, the provincial public security bureau said Tuesday.

Police in Henan have arrested and returned 16 overseas fugitives since Fox Hunt started in April.

Fox Hunt 2015, targeting economic suspects, corrupt Party members and disgraced government officials, is part of a larger campaign code-named "Sky Net" that combines efforts by the government, law enforcement agencies, the central bank and diplomatic services.

More than 250 fugitives have been returned to China from more than 30 countries and regions since the operation started in April, according to the Ministry of Public Security. Endi
