11 killed in rain-related incidents in western Indian state

At least 11 people were killed in rain-related incidents in the western Indian state of Gujarat Tuesday, said officials.

Incessant rains have been lashing Gujarat since Monday, disrupting life and leading to the meteorological department to issue warning to fishermen against going out to sea.

Disaster Control Room and police in the state capital Ahmadabad said 11 died due to rain-related incidents.

Among the deadly incidents, at least four persons were killed in Banaskantha district when the jeep in which their were traveling was washed away in heavy flow of rain water, while three other persons were killed when a tree fell on their car in the district of Rajkot. Endi
