Singapore stocks close 0.98 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 32. 33 points, or 0.98 percent, to close at 3,281.09.

A total of 2.30 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 37 billion Singapore dollars (1.0 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 303 to 155, while 484 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 39.23 points, or 1.17 percent, to close at 3, 313.42 on Monday. Endi
