4 gunned down in Pakistan in separate attacks

At least four people were killed and two policemen injured in two separate attacks in Pakistan's Punjab and Balochistan provinces on Tuesday morning, local media reported.

Aaj TV reported that a policeman and a militant were killed during an exchange of firing near D-Ground area of Faisalabad, an industrial city of the country's eastern Punjab province.

The militants opened fire at the policemen when they were stopped on a security check post on account of suspicious behavior, said the report.

During the gunbattle, two policemen also got injured who were shifted to a nearby hospital.

One militant was killed during the exchange of firing while the others fled the scene.

Police said they have recovered guns and explosive materials from the car which the militants left near the check post while fleeing.

A search operation has been launched in the area to search for the on-the-run militants.

In a separate attack, two people were killed when some unknown gunmen opened fire at them at Sabzal area of Quetta, capital city of the country's southwestern Balochistan province.

Police said the victims belonged to minority Hazara community of Shia Muslims.

The attackers fled the scene following the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Endi
