LME base metals close mixed on Monday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed mixed mostly on Monday.

The strike which happened at Chile's state-owned miner Codelco has lasted nearly one week. The company said its contract workers demanding better working conditions have controlled the company's small Salvador mine.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, down 0.86 percent at 96.41 in late trading Monday.

The three-month unofficial copper price dropped 35 U.S. dollars, or 0.67 percent, to 5,205 dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price increased 8 dollars, or 0.49 percent, to 1,646 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price increased 14 dollars, or 0.82 percent, to 1,720 dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 15 dollars, or 0.77 percent, to 1,939 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 240 dollars, or 2.13 percent, to 11,010 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price increased 150 dollars, or 0.97 percent, to 15,550 dollars a tonne. Endit
