Shanghai SIPG ease past Chongqing, Guizhou stun Beijing

Xinhua, July 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Shanghai SIPG beat newly-promoted Chongqing Lifan 4-2 on Sunday, reclaiming the top spot of 2015 Chinese Super League (CSL) with 45 points.

Shanghai SIPG's Wu Lei scored the opener in the 10th minute. Asamoah Gyan earned a free-kick for Shanghai and his teammate Dario Conca seized the opportunity to score in the 22nd.

In the half hour mark, Gyan collected Wu Lei's pass and extended his team's margin to three goals.

Shi Ke's foul in the box awarded Chongqing a penalty kick, which Emanuel Gigliotti converted to pull one back in the 56th. Wu Lei's goal in the 78th minute gave SIPG a 4-1 lead, before Gigliotti scored his second goal in the 86th, but that was not enough to save his team.

Guizhou Renhe defeated Beijing Guoan 2-1 at home. Guizhou's Hyuri broke the deadlock in the 19th minute and Feng Renliang doubled the lead in the 42nd.

In stoppage time, Shao Jiayi pulled one back for Beijing.

Elsewhere, Guangzhou Evergrande beat Hangzhou Greentown 1-0 as Zheng Long scored for the team. Endi
