Chinese state councilor meets Tajik foreign minister

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with visiting Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojidin Aslov on Friday.

Hailing China and Tajikistan as friendly neighbors, Yang said China attaches great importance to ties with Tajikistan and is willing to cooperate more in the economy, security, transportation, energy and culture.

"We are ready to work with Tajikistan to build the Silk Road Economic Belt and to have a more productive relationship," Yang said.

Aslov said Tajikistan views China as a diplomatic priority, and wants to use the Silk Road Economic Belt as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with China. Endi
