Chinese shares ended a six-day winning streak on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing 1.29 percent lower at 4,070.91 points.
The smaller Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.72 percent to close at 13,518.51 points. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, slumped 2.36 percent to end at 2,897.82 points.
Total turnover on the two bourses rose to around 1.59 trillion yuan (259.5 billion U.S. dollars) from 1.4 trillion the previous day.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market finished on Friday down 1.36 percent against the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 0.13 points to 1,313.15. A total of 11,588 shares worth about 75 million Lao kip (about 9,000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended lower on Friday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) declined 19.11 points, or 0.93 percent, to 2,045.96 at the close. Trading volume stood at 604.46 million shares worth 6.02 trillion won (5.16 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo shares ended the trading Friday lower on a stronger yen and weak Chinese economic data.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 139.42 points, or 0.67 percent, from Thursday at 20,544.53.
The turnover was about 2,076.7 billion yen (about 16.76 billion U.S. dollars).

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.16 percent higher on Friday.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 12.3 points to 7,665.52. The all-share index went up by 5.62 points, or 0.13 percent, to 4,375.15.
Trading volume reached 2.98 billion shares worth 5.8 billion pesos (128.04 million U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- Falling resource stocks hit Australia's market on Friday, sending it lower for the third consecutive day.
At the 4:15 p.m. (AEST) official market close, the benchmark S& P/ASX200 was down 24.2 points, or 0.43 percent, to 5,566.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index had slipped 24.5 points, or 0.44 per cent, to 5,556.8.

HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Friday with the weighted index down 23.26 points, or 0.26 percent, to end at 8,767. 86, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 75.92 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.42 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks dropped 270.34 points, or 1.06 percent, to close on Friday at 25,128.51 points.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 631.26 points on Friday, down 0.75 points, or 0.12 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 111.646 million shares worth 2.154 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (99.42 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 111 stocks went up, 88 stocks fell down, while 81 stocks remained unchanged.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 86.32 points on Friday, up 0.24 points, or 0.28 percent, against the previous trading session.
A total of 43.897 million shares worth 536.259 billion Vietnamese dong (24.85 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Friday, a decrease of 9.77 percent in volume and 16.42 percent in value against the previous trading session.
