Czech scientist Karel Dolezal from the Hana Region Centre for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research (CRH) said on Thursday that the CRH scientists have discovered a new group of substances with a strong anti-tumour effect.

Dolezal said that the group of substances is derived from the cytokinin plant growth substances. They have gained a U.S. patent for the new substances recently, which opens the way towards gaining an investor and subsequent development of a new drug against cancer.

The CRH opened in 2012 and employs dozens of researchers from 12 countries. It is financed by EU subsidies and Czech state budget. Endit
