Turkish soldier killed by gunfire from Syrian side

One Turkish soldier was killed and two others wounded in southern Turkey by gun fire from the Syrian side of the border on Thursday, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The attack occurred in the border area of southern Kilis province of Turkey, and the gun fire came from the area under the control of Islamic State (IS) in Syria, according to the report.

The Turkish military responded fire and clashes are continuing, said the report, adding that one Islamic Statee (IS) member was also killed in the exchange of fire.

The assault came after series of IS suicide bomber attack in southern Suruc town of Sarnliurfa province on Monday that cost lives of 32 people and wounded 104 others. Endit
