Vietnamese FM to visit Japan

At the invitation of Japan's Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will visit Japan to chair the seventh meeting of Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee, said a Vietnamese official on Thursday.

Le Hai Binh, spokesperson of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement at a regular press briefing held in capital Hanoi on Thursday.

According to Binh, at the meeting to be held in Japan's Tokyo on July 29 to 31, the two sides will discuss concrete measures to promote Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, and add more substance to the bilateral relations in areas of politics, diplomacy, security, defense, economics, trade, investment, agriculture, culture, as well as education.

Minh and Kishida will also discuss the implementation of agreements reached during talks between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe at the lately-held Mekong-Japan Summit, Binh told the press briefing. Endi
