Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday went down by over 80 points at 11,520.67 points.
disappointing quarterly financial reports from big companies in the United States are believed to drive investors to take profit, according to local analysts. The blue-chip DAX index lost 84.13 points, or 0.72 percent.
Deutsche Lufthansa AG rose by 0.75 percent. Allianz SE climbed by 0.59 percent. Deutsche Bank AG advanced by 0.31 percent. Muenchener Rueck AG, a reinsurance company, went up by 0.15 percent.
Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor company, lost 6.34 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a supplier of standard and speciality fertilizers. slipped by 2.74 percent. LANXESS AG, a specialty chemicals company, slid by 2.26 percent. BASF SE dropped by 1.94 percent and ThyssenKrupp AG plunged by 1.48 percent.
The turnover stood at 2.92 billion euros (around 3.17 billion U.S. dollars). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 264.3 million euros (around 287.22 million U.S. dollars). Endit
