Canada reaches air transport agreements with Nigeria, Mali, Oman

Xinhua, July 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Canada has reached air transport agreements with Nigeria, Mali and Oman, which will allow Canadian airlines to better serve passengers travelling between Canada and these countries, according to an announcement issued by the Canadian Ministry of Transport Monday.

The first-time, code-sharing agreements will make travel to Nigeria, Mali and Oman easier and more convenient. Code-sharing refers to selling tickets for other airlines, allowing them to expand their network and product offerings.

The new agreements came into force immediately.

"These agreements demonstrate the Government of Canada's commitment to supporting the Canadian air industry by helping it expand its access to international markets," said the ministry in the announcement.

Up to date, Canada has concluded new or expanded air transport agreements with more than 85 countries. Endi
