Canada leads medal table at Pan American Games

Canada is leading the medal table of the Pan-American Games in Toronto, followed by the United States which is very close, news agency Prensa Latina said on Friday.

At the end of the sixth day, Canada, the host country, is in the top of the continental games' medal count with 38 gold, 36 silver and 23 bronze medals, followed by the U.S. (34-28-34).

The best Latin American countries so far are Brazil, Cuba and Colombia, which are competing to reach third place.

Brazil has 18 gold, 15 silver and 28 bronze medals, followed very close by Cuba (18-14-19) and Colombia (17-7-16).

Following are the medal table after sixth day competition on Friday (tabulated under team, gold, silver, bronze and total):
