Drone attack kills 8 Afghan militants

Eight Taliban militants were killed as their hideout was attacked by drone in Wardak province on Thursday, a local official said.

"Acting upon an intelligence report a pilotless plane fired rocket on the hideout of Taliban in Torkhil village of Jalriz district killing eight rebels including a commander Mullah Shafiullah today morning," provincial police chief spokesman Abdul Wali Noorzai told Xinhua.

The attack took place at 04:00 a.m. local time Thursday and there were no casualties on civilians, the official added.

Mullah Shafiullah, according to the official was behind killing 28 police in Jalriz district of Wardak province couple of weeks ago.

Taliban militants haven't made comment. Endi
