Albania's business and consumer confidence in economy increases

Xinhua, July 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

The business and individuals' confidence in the Albanian economy improved during the second quarter of 2015, according to the findings of the Central Bank's Business and Consumer Confidence Survey published on Wednesday.

The Bank of Albania said in the Survey that the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) of Albania increased by 5.1 points in the second quarter of 2015, returning ESI to the upward trend, after the fall in the first quarter of this year.

The improved ESI in the second quarter was attributed to the increased confidence in industry and services and the increased consumer confidence, while the decreased confidence in construction and trade provided negative contribution to the aggregated indicator.

Industry Confidence Indicator (ICI) rose by 5.8 percentage points in the second quarter of 2015, after the fall for two consecutive quarters. The increase in ICI was mainly driven by the growth in the balance of production and the growth in the balance of financial situation. Endit
