France's consumer prices slightly down in June

France's Statistics Institute Bureau Insee announced Wednesday the consumer prices index (CPI) was slightly down by 0.1 percent last month from a month earlier on falling energy and manufacturing prices.

The index grew 0.3 percent year-on-year, it added.

"In June, prices of manufactured products, especially clothing and footwear, decreased seasonally with the start of summer sales. Moreover, prices of petroleum products and food also went down. Insee said in a monthly economic report.

"These decreases were not totally offset by the seasonal increase in prices of some services related to tourism with the upcoming summer season," it added.

French government expects 2015 inflation rate to reach 0.9 percent. Endit
