Indonesia plans to raise UN roles issue in general assembly meeting in September

Xinhua, July 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Indonesian government will raise the issues of UN roles since it was established 70 years ago, and other issues at the General Assembly session in September in New York, Indonesian minister said here on Monday.

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla is to represent Indonesia at the international meeting, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said.

"God Willing JK (Jusuf Kalla) will present at the general assembly meeting," Retno said at Vice Presidential Office after meeting with Kalla.

Minister Retno also said that Indonesia would also raise the issue about the result of planned peace-making conference that will be held in Indonesia before the general assembly session on July 27, 2015.

"It is because Indonesia has involved much in peace keeping in line with Indonesia's foreign politic policy," she said.

Indonesia ranks the 16th as the world's largest contributor on the peace keeping mission under the United Nations coordination, according to Retno.

Most of Indonesian troops have been deployed to the Middle East, Lebanon and other countries for the peace mission. Endi
