Sierra Leone records 7 new cases of Ebola

Xinhua, July 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Seven cases of the Ebola virus have been record in Sierra Leone, the National Ebola Response Center (NERC) said Sunday.

Five cases are confirmed in the Western Area whilst the other two in the northern district of Kambia -- both in hotspots of the disease, said NERC spokesman, Yayah Tunis.

All the cases are from "quarantine homes" and those diagnosed positive have been taken to treatment centers while all those who have contacted with them are now at "voluntary quarantine homes" for 21 days observation, he told Xinhua.

"A case of Ebola is worrisome, but since all the cases are from quarantine homes, they could easily be traced," he said.

There are now 54 Ebola patients in treatment centers across the country. Endi
