Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said here Saturday that the criminal investigation team now has a clearer picture on the possible cause of the crash of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17, and is carefully looking into and investigating all scenarios.

At a memorial to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy, Najib said in his speech that the investigation of the MH17 incident has been divided into two parts, i.e. the criminal investigation and the technical investigation.(Malaysia-MH17-Cause)

NAY PYI TAW -- The National League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi, decided on Saturday to compete in the upcoming general election slated for November 8.

Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of the NLD, told a press conference following a meeting of the party's Central Executive Committee at her residence in the capital that the party including herself will compete in all three levels of the parliament and in almost all constituencies.

Priority will be given to qualified party members, especially women, youth and ethnic people for selection of candidates, she said.(Myanmar-General Election-Opposition)

KABUL -- Two suicide bombers died while one bystander child wounded in an explosion in southeastern Afghan capital of Kabul on Saturday, police said.

"Two suicide bombers riding a motorcycle died after the explosive went off prematurely in near a industrial park in Bagramai locality at around 5:00 p.m. local time. The blast caused two bomber killed on the spot and injured one child," the police official told Xinhua anonymously.

KABUL -- About 30 Islamic State (IS) affiliate militants, including a senior IS leader, were killed following a U.S.-led drone strike in eastern Afghanistan overnight Friday, said the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the country's intelligence agency on Saturday.

"Based on NDS intelligence, Hafez Sayeed, the leader of Daesh ( IS) in so-called Khurassan state was killed in an air strike in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province last night," the NDS said in a statement. (Afghanistan-IS-Attack) Endi
