Israeli drone crashes in north Lebanon

Xinhua, July 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Lebanese Army command said Saturday that an Israeli drone crashed in the port of the northern coastal city of Tripoli.

"At around 8:30 am (0530 GMT), a drone belonging to the Israeli enemy went down in the port of Tripoli," the army said in a statement by the Guidance Directorate without elaborating.

A security source told Xinhua that fishermen in Tripoli saw the drone that crashed around 200 meters off the coast of the city and they rushed to inform the army units deployed in the region.

Israel has been violating the Lebanese airspace since the end of the 33-day war in July 2006 in violation of the resolution 1701, which stipulated the halt of all hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. Endit
