Typhoon Chan-Hom to land east China in 24 hours

Typhoon Chan-hom will make landfall in east China on Friday night or Saturday morning, China's National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

The typhoon is moving northwestward from the East China Sea and will land somewhere between Fuding in Fujian Province and Xiangshan in Zhejiang Province.

The wind speed at the center of the typhoon will top 58 meters per second at the landfall.

Strong rainstorms will hit Taiwan, Fujian, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu, the NMC forecast. Endi
