Dorival named as Santos coach

Xinhua, July 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Eight-time Brazilian Serie A champions Santos on Thursday announced Dorival Junior as their new coach.

Dorival, who also coached the club in 2010, signed a deal tying him to Santos until December 2017.

"I am back with the best of intentions," Dorival said in a statement published on the club's website. "We are going to work as hard as we can and we hope to have the support of the fans."

The 53-year-old replaces Marcelo Fernandes, who filled the role temporarily after the sacking of Enderson Moreira in March.

His first match in charge will be the home clash at the Vila Belmiro stadium against Figueriense on Saturday.

Santos are currently 17th in the 20-team standings with just twins from 12 matches. Endi
