Convoy carrying Srebrenica victims' remains passes through Sarajevo

Xinhua, July 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Hundreds of people gathered in city center on Thursday to bid their farewell to newly-identified victims of Srebrenica massacre.

A track, coming from Visoko with coffins of remains of 136 victims, passed through central Sarajevo in the morning, as in previous years.

The convoy will head to Srebrenica. On July 11, those victims will be buried in Potocari, the memorial center for Srebrenica massacre, during a solemn ceremony.

This year marks 20th anniversary of Srebrenica massacre, in which some 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed by Bosnian Serb forces in 1995.

Senior officials representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina and several foreign countries will attend the ceremony, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Enditem
