Xinhua, July 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Paolo Guerrero scored a goal and set up another as his new club Flamengo defeated Internacional 2-1 in Brazil's Serie A championship on Wednesday.

Making his debut for the Rio de Janeiro club, the Peru international needed just 10 minutes to open his account, netting from close range after Hector Canteros' headed assist.

Guerrero then provided the pass for Everton's 66th-minute strike before Ernando pulled a goal back for the hosts in injury time.

The result at the Beira-Rio stadium in Porto Alegre lifted Flamengo to 13th in the standings while International slipped to 16th.
