Xinhua, July 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese shooters collected two gold medals at the Gwangju Universiade on Wednesday.

Chen Kehan, a rapid pistol champion of China's National Games, fired 27 points to beat Russia's Nikita Sukhanov by an advantage of two points out of eight shots to claim the men's 25m rapid fire pistol.

"Chen Kehan is taking training with the provincial team usually when he is off classes in Guangzhou Sport University," said Chinese coach Zhang Jianwei.

"In preparation of international competitions, Chen Kehan and some other top shooters in school will be gathered to train with the national team in Beijing. I think this is working good for both athletes and competitions."

In women's 50m rifle 3 positions gold medal match, Chinese trio Yi Siling, the London Olympic champion in 10m rifle, Chen Dongqi and Chen Fang combined for 1,744 points to outlast Iran, though Iranian Najmeh Khedmati had the highest 586 points personally.

Khedmati, the fourth placed shooter of 2014 world championships, won her second title here by out-shooting Romania's Laura-Georgeta Ilie 586-583. She is also the winner of women's 10m rifle on Sunday.

Kirill Grigorian of Russia set a new Universiade record in 207.3 points to win men's 50m rifle prone.

South Korea's Han Jiyoung won women's 10m air pistol in 198.8 points.

In women's skeet, Libuse Jahodova of the Czech Republic narrowly beat Russia's Nata Vinogradova 13-12 to win the event. Endi
