British FTSE 100 drops 1.58 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday decreased by 1.58 percent, or 103.47 points, to 6,432.21 points.

Mining stocks dominated the fallers including Glencore, Anglo American and Antofagasta. The falling mining sector dragged the market.

Glencore led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 6.87 percent, followed by Anglo American (5.76 percent), Rolls-Royce Holdings (5.36 percent), Weir Group (5.04 percent) and Smiths Group (4.91 percent).

Land Securities Group's share price increased by 1.63 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. EasyJet, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, British Land Company and AstraZeneca increased by 0.89 percent, 0.78 percent, 0.75 percent and 0.70 percent respectively. Endit
