Singapore stocks close 0.24 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.99 points, or 0.24 percent, to close at 3,340.93.

A total of 1.19 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 989.0 million Singapore dollars (729.5 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 238 to 183, while 546 others finished unchanged.

The STI index moved down 9.79 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 3,332.94 on Monday. Endi
