About 34 Taliban militants have been killed in fresh military operations across Afghanistan, said the country's Defense Ministry on Tuesday morning.

"Afghan National Army (ANA) carried out joint and cleanup operations in eastern Nangarhar, Parwan, Laghman, Logar, Ghazni, western Herat and Ghor and northern Baghlan provinces over the past 24 hours. As a result 34 armed Taliban members were killed, 33 wounded and three others were arrested," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates.

The army personnel also seized weapons and defused several landmines and roadside bombs during the above raids, the statement added.

Two ANA soldiers also lost their lives during the same period, the statement confirmed.

The Taliban militant group has yet to make comments. Endi
