Indian PM leaves for tour of 5 Central Asian countries, Russia

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday embarked on an eight-day visit of five Central Asian countries and Russia.
"Modi's first stop is Uzbekistan from where he will go to Kazakhstan Tuesday. He will then head straight too Russia to attend the BRICS Summit and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit," sources said.
After attending the two summits in Russia, the Indian Prime Minister will visit Turkmenistan on July 10 followed by Kyrgyzstan on July 11 and Tajikistan on July 12.
This would be the first visit to all five Central Asian countries by an Indian prime minister, which is aimed at enhancing trade ties as well as cooperation in energy and security, the sources said.
According to media reports, Modi is also likely to meet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the BRICS and SCO summits in Ufa, Russia. Endi
