Drivers detained over fatal car accident in Beijing

Two drivers have been detained over a fatal car crash on Saturday, police said on Monday.

Two sedans collided in Fangshan District at 6:20 a.m.. Both cars skidded to a roadside bus station and ran over several pedestrians. Four people were killed at the scene. Another died in hospital despite treatment.

The divers of both cars were detained for suspected crimes of endangering public safety. Witnesses said they were overtaking each other before the crash.
