Guangzhou Evergrande smash Chongqing Lifan 7-0 in Chinese Super League

Defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande smashed promoted Chongqing Lifan 7-0 at home on Sunday, which created the largest margin between two teams this season so far in the Chinese Super League.

The absence of the 38-year-old veteran Sun Jihai weakened he defense line of Chongqing, but the visiting team conceded only one goal in the first half.

Guangzhou midfielder Yu Hanchao scored on a pass by Brazilian striker Goulart Periera in the 14th minute.

At the beginning of the second half, Guangzhou striker Gaolin's shot was blocked by Chongqing goalkeeper, but the ball dropped directly on Huang Bowen's head and rebounded into the net.

From the 54th minute, Wang Shangyuan, Gaolin and Zheng Long scored three goals in 4 minutes because of the collapse of Chongqing's whole defense line.

Yu Hanchao and Zheng Long scored again in the 66th and 83rd.

For other matches tonight, Shanghai SIPG beat Shanghai shenxin 2-0 in a derby, and Hangzhou Greentown beat Tianjin Teda 2-1. Endi
