Universiade: China takes over top spot on Day 2

China took over the leading place of the medal table with a haul of five golds on Sunday at the Gwangju Universiade.
Olympic champion and world record holder Yi Siling led her teammates to the top of the podium of women's 10-meter air rifle on Sunday morning. But She failed to win a medal in the afternoon's individual final. The gold medal was taken by Najmeh Khedmati of Iran.
The men's 10-meter air rifle title was also won by Chinese sharpshooters. Liu Zhiguo took the individual gold while the Chinese team earning the team title.
On the second day of diving competitions, Wang Ying and Wang Han finished one-two in the women's 10-meter platform. The other diving gold of the day was taken by a Russian duo who beat two Chinese divers to the second place in the men's 3-meter springboard synchronized diving.
The fifth gold of the day for China came from swimming pool where Lu Ying won the final of women's 50m butterfly.
The other five swimming golds were even split by swimmers from Kazakhstan, Japan, the United States, Ukraine and Brazil.
Host South Korea won two gold medals through Gwak Donghan in the men's 90kg class and Kim Seongyeon in the women's 70kg category.
Sunday's last two gold medals were taken by Russia and Japan with Russia winning the women's gymnastics team title and Japan bringing home the men's gold. Endi
