Serbian midfielder Milos Jojic joins Cologne from Dortmund

Serbian international Milos Jojic agreed on a transfer from Dortmund to league rivals Cologne, both clubs confirmed on Sunday.

The 23-year-old midfielder inked a four-year deal, which keeps him with the "Billygoats" until June 2019. The new arrival received the jersey number 8.

"I am very glad that Milos Jojic opted for a transfer to us. During the talks it quickly turned out that he brings everything to fit into our team. Milos will be a new and versatile option for our offence," Cologne's head coach Peter Stoeger told the club's official homepage.

Jojic joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2014 from Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade. However, the midfielder never made the breakthrough into the first team at the "BVB". He made overall 20 Bundesliga and five UEFA Champions League appearances for the eight time German champions.

"Milos Jojic is a talented player who already proved himself on a high level despite his young age," Cologne's CEO Joerg Schmadtke said.

The "Billygoats" completed the last season on the 12th place. They encounter Stuttgart at their season opener on August 15.

Besides the sigining of Jojic, Cologne announced that they wouldn't sign Schalke's defender Felipe Santana as the Brazilian failed the medical due to a calf injury. Endi
