Germany down Dominican Republic to finish third at FIVB World Grand Prix Ningbo leg

Germany beat Dominican Republic in straight sets Sunday afternoon to finish third at the Ningbo leg of the FIVB World Grand Prix women's volleyball tournament.

The German women finished with one win against two losses in the four-team round robin after taking the 25-6, 25-18 and 25-23 victory.

Dominican Republic was leading 21-16 in the third set before German captain, who had been sitting on the bench after the first set, came back to court to lead a 9-2 run that wrapped up the match in one hour and 12 minutes.

"The coach just called my name and I knew what I should do, I am very happy with our results," said Kozuch, who finished with seven points.

Germany outblocked Dominican Republic 16-5 and Marie Scholzel was the best blocker of the match with 5 stuffs.

Dominican Republic was set to finish at the bottom with three straight losses.

Later on Sunday, China and Russia, who have both won two matches in a row, will vie for the title. Endi
