Blast kill 3 children in Afghanistan

Xinhua, July 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

A mine went off in Marja district of Taliban former stronghold the southern Helmand province Friday afternoon, killing three innocent children, spokesman for provincial government Omar Zawak said Saturday. "Three innocent children were playing on a ground in Marja district when a bomb planted by militants went off, leaving three innocent children dead on the spot," Zawak told Xinhua.

He blamed Taliban militants for organizing the deadly bombing. However, the outfit has yet to claim responsibility.

In a similar incident, three children sustained injuries as an explosive device exploded in the neighboring Gereshk district on Friday, the official added. Endi
