LME base metals down on Friday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were down over worries about the fallout from Greece ahead of Sunday's referendum.

Greece will vote on Sunday in a bailout referendum that could decide whether the country stays in the euro zone. Dealers cleared the decks awaiting further clarity on the troubled country.

The three-month unofficial copper price dropped 41 U.S. dollars, or 0.71 percent, to 5,761 dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price lost 27 dollars, or 1.55 percent, to 1,711 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial lead price lost 21 dollars, or 1.17 percent, to 1,768 dollars a tonne.

Meanwhile, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 24 dollars, or 1.18 percent, to 2,017 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 187.5 dollars, or 1.54 percent, to 11,987.5 dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial tin price lost 425 dollars, or 2.93 percent, to 14,075 dollars a tonne. Endit
