Poland to sell armored vehicles to Slovakia

Xinhua, July 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Poland and Slovakia on Friday signed an intention letter over the sale of 30 Rosomak Wheeled Armored Vehicles worth over 120 million PLN (32 million U.S. dollars).

The agreement was signed during Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico's official visit to Poland.

Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz praised the deal as a success of the Polish weapons industry, saying: "We want to promote Rosomaks not only in Europe, but also worldwide."

She added the agreement secured the employment of 3,500 people working at the plant in Siemianowice Slaskie, where the Rosomaks are built.

Rosomak has been used by Polish soldiers Task Force White Eagle in Afghanistan during the U.S.-led operation "Enduring Freedom." Endit
