Russia beats Germany for opening win at FIVB World Grand Prix

Russia beat Germany 3-1 here Friday afternoon for its opening win at the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix women's volleyball tournament.

Nataliya Goncharova had 15 kills, three blocks and one ace to lead the Russian women to the 25-20, 24-26, 25-20 and 25-20 win.

Margareta Kozuch led Germany with 14 points and Maren Brinker added 13.

The Russian women reaped 33 points from Germany's errors and outblocked their opponents 12-9.

The host China will play Dominican Republic in Friday's other match of the four-team round-robin tournament. Endi
