Chinese VP calls for deeper Colombia ties

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Colombian Congress President Jose David Name Cardozo in Beijing on Friday morning, vowing greater cooperation between the two countries.

Li said China-Colombia ties have been strong since the two countries established diplomatic links.

He expressed hope for more contact between their governments,legislatures and political parties.

There is particular potential for cooperation in trade, manufacturing, infrastructure and culture, according to the vice president.

Name reiterated Colombia's adherence to the one-China policy and said it looks forward to learning from China's experience in development and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. Endi
